Media history in a general sense refers to the historical development of communication tools, especially the mass media (press, radio and television). In a narrower sense, the term research into the history of media through the Media Studies. Media history is also a branch of communication and history, where the communication of science also uses the term "communication history."
The additions of the disciplines in some cases differ significantly, which is particularly relevant to the concept of media and methodological assumptions. Depending on the concept of media stories the media put so partly in the prehistory and early history, partly by the invention of the printing press or until the advent of electronic media middle of the 19th Century.
